So, you know many of these legumes can be sprouted and thrown into salads, or mixed into a meatloaf. I've also heard that if you add a TLB of vinegar to the water you soak the beans in, the gassy effect is reduced. (Tip from your Great Aunt Nadine). She had 8 kids. I imagine in a small house, if you fed them all chili for dinner you might like to reduce the gas side effect.

I tried sending this tip a while back but don't see it anywhere. When cooking a pot of pinto or black beans cook a huge pot. What you don't eat that day simply cool the beans and process them in your blender til fairly smooth with a little water and pour onto your fruit leather trays for your food dehydrator. Dry til good and crumbly. To rehydrate just add hot water til you have the consistency you like. Instant refried beans! My teenage sons love it.
