    You might want to also laminate your recipes. If it came down to no internet & if you have to cook somewhere outside you're going to deal with the elements. Staples, Office Max, local teacher store & even sams sells a laminator. You can hole punch through it. I do recommend using a hot laminator. I've had some items dropped in the tub, toilet & the kitchen sink...don't ask... & they were simply dried off & fine. Plus with heat It's sturdier & you don't get peeling that can happen with cold laminating.

    That is a great idea about laminating your recipe cards. I have thought of putting our family favorite food storage recipes in a small photo album that has pockets. They could fit into a backpack that is used for an emergency kit. Laminating them would be an extra benefit.
